Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply to My Pocket Library, a personal book library app for iOS.
Use of the App
You may use My Pocket Library to scan ISBN barcodes, add books to your personal library, organize books by location, track reading status, add notes, manage profile information, and use friend-related features where available.
You agree not to misuse the app, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access to other users' data, or use the app for unlawful purposes.
Account
You must be 16 or older to use My Pocket Library. Some features may require signing in with Apple, Google, or an email address. You are responsible for maintaining access to your account and for activity that occurs under your account.
User Content
You are responsible for the information you add to the app, including notes, profile information, shelf/location names, library entries, and messages you send to other readers. You should not add content that is unlawful, harmful, or infringes another person's rights.
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You may not post or send content that is hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, or discriminatory. Names, usernames, bios, shelf captions, book club names, messages and the titles of books you type in are checked for objectionable language before they are posted, and new profile and book club photos are screened automatically and removed if flagged. We act on reports within 24 hours by removing the offending content, clearing the profile responsible, and suspending its account. A suspended account cannot sign in.
Subscriptions
Pocket Library Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription offered weekly, monthly, or yearly. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the same price and period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. Purchases are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.
Messaging and Conduct
Direct messages are for readers who have connected as friends. A book club's discussion is open to everyone its organizer invites, who need not be your friends. You agree not to use messaging or book clubs to harass, threaten, defraud, or abuse another reader, or to send unlawful or infringing content.
We do not monitor or read message content. Every profile, conversation and book club has a Report option — on each club message, each club member, each club invitation and the club itself — and reporting sends us the reason you give along with a copy of the reported reader's messages there so we can act on it. We may remove the content, clear the profiles and suspend the accounts that break these Terms. You can also block a reader at any time, which removes them from your friends, stops them messaging you, sending you a friend request or inviting you to a book club, and hides their messages in book clubs you share. You keep your conversation with them; they keep only the messages they sent, and are told you blocked them.
Book Metadata
The app retrieves book metadata from third-party services, Open Library and ISBNdb. Book metadata may be incomplete, unavailable, or incorrect. You are responsible for reviewing and editing your library entries as needed.
Privacy
Your use of the app is also governed by the Privacy Policy for My Pocket Library.
No Warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the app will always be available, error-free, secure, or that book metadata will always be accurate.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updates will be reflected by changing the effective date above.
